The NTC has facilitated multiple LGBTQ ERG mixers, to promote relationship building, professional networking, and ERG best practice sharing among ERG leaders and members from around North Texas. Mixers have also been used as fundraisers or educational events as well. Check the NTC calendar for upcoming events to meet your fellow LGBTQ ERG members and leaders and to stay involved with NTC’s work!
NTC members meet once a month to support each other’s work and advance the mission of the NTC. We encourage each ERG to update the group on upcoming events as well as any challenges or successes they have encountered in their organizations. Join us to learn more about the NTC, support one of our collaborative projects, or enjoy the inspiration of being surrounded by colleagues.
Meetings are usually held the 3rd Thursday of each month, although this date changes occasionally as needed. Check this page for updates. Meetings are held at the Resource Center at 5750 Cedar Springs Rd, Dallas, TX 75235.
NTC Fundraiser & Mixer
NTC’s inaugural 2019 event saw dozens of LGBTQ ERG members from many companies come together in Deep Ellum to raise funds for two local nonprofits: Outlast Youth and the Coalition for Aging LGBT. A silent auction was held and over $2,500 was raised for these organizations.
NTC & HRC Educational Mixer
As part of the NTC and the Human Right Campaign’s (HRC) mission to improve workplace equity, a joint mixer was held in Addison to educate members of both organizations about each other’s work in North Texas. Both groups remain excited to collaborate on ways LGBTQ ERGs can work with HRC to promote LGBTQ affirming workplaces.
NTC Membership Summit
Over 50 LGBTQ ERG leaders and members came together at Celanese headquarters in Irving, TX, to share best practices in membership engagement in their organizations. Most ERGs have struggled with issues of membership engagement, engaging their full employee base, or establishing and maintaining diversity in their member and leadership ranks. In October 2019, a keynote speaker educated the group on bias in the workplace, a panel of ERG leaders provided insight on ways their organizations have addressed these issues, and breakout sessions were facilitated to share challenges and successes in building energy, engagement, and diversity in their respective organizations. ERGs big and small, old and new, were able to share and learn from each other’s experience, and support each other in the rewarding but oftentimes challenging work of building momentum in their organizations.
